I bought (rescued) this triple black beauty in 1989 from some poor guys mom (for about half of what he paid for it) and the first few pics are from the week I got it home and cleaned it up for the first time. It had 8 year old  paint an older exhaust but DAMN was it FAST!  I ate up the tranny in the first year because the car launched so hard. I used it as a daily driver and worked on it for six years until my 396 was stolen so it was without a motor until 1998.  I finally came across a .030 350 decked for higher compression along with a set of 202 "fuelie" heads.  All I needed was a carb. Mounts were fabricated using Moroso and Chevy parts. There is a MSD Billet HEI distributor and 6AL Ignition box on the near future

I just picked up a 700R4 O/D Trans freshly prepped with heavy duty corvette sprag and solenoids and shift improver kit. The 700R4  has the lowest 1st gear and with the correct rear end ratio it pulls hard with no problem.  We had to cusom fabricate a new trans crossmember to facilitate the trans but switching to a new tail shaft and the old drive shaft can be used .  Stepping up the torque, we have a donated pair of Hooker headers and a mouth-watering American thunder dual exhaust kit by Flowmaster complete with a gorgeous welded H pipe assembly and three chamber mufflers.

The interior was redone in 1994 and I installed a sweet pair of early corvette seats over the past summer and mohogany center console. The charging system is being upgraded to a single wire Delco 120 amp alternator to handle all the new stereo and power crap. A Sony disk system with two 400W amps and an increasing number of speakers awaits wiring. A trunk mounted OPTIMA battery with Taylor braided cables makes it look clean and can handle the power draining accessories.

Steering and suspension include Moog, ARP, Gates and Energy suspension. Their poly-eurothane bushing body mount kit and suspension bushings all around will keep the meats on the road All OEM bolts and hardware came from Paddock.  The front clip and radiator support were coated with POR15 Chassis black metal protector.   Monroe sensa-trac coil over shocks replaced the old air shock system in the rear and American Racing AR 32 Aluminum wheels and BF Goodrich Radial T/A's complete the combo.

The new O/D trans gives us tons of new power with our beefed up Nova ten bolt posi which now awaits a ring gear upgrade.  A 3 row Chevy radiator with dual 20 inch Hayden slimline fans will control the water temp using Haydens temp sender relay and controller.  Updated Delco HiFlow water pump and the dual fans will help the Chevy keep its cool.  The Monte gets its fuel via a custom designed system including a Holley 750 cfm with vacuum secondaries, dual Holley blue 110 gph pumps, aeroquip braided lines and aluminum fittings and a Harwood 15 gallon fuel cell tucked away in the trunk.
